GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate should have experience in court administration, case flow management, working knowledge of MACS and ATS/ACS systems, and possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supervising staff in the absence of the Court Administrator, responding to inquiries from the public, employees and litigants; providing information and guidance to attorneys, litigants and community organizations; assisting litigants with technical and procedural issues, facilitating communication among state, vicinage, and local management, preparing, reviewing and monitoring daily, weekly and monthly reports; maintain the financial records of the court and the disposition of all fines: prepares monthly financial reports and distributes collected monies to the Town Finance Officer and other designated agencies; drafting correspondence; coordinating activities of case scheduling and tracking to ensure timely case processing; complying with the New Jersey Court Rules, Supreme Court Directives, laws and established policies and procedures governing the operation of the Municipal Courts.  Perform related duties as required.  Selected candidates must be available and be prepared to take callouts from various police departments.

 
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

One (1) year or more of experience in the administrative operations of a court.  Candidate must be an accredited Deputy Court Administrator or be in the process of being certified as set forth in Rule 1:41-3.

One (1) year of experience in work related to the administrative operation of a court, law enforcement agency, law office, or government agency, including preparation and/or processing of legal documents. 

Candidates who have completed the required State of New Jersey Principals of Municipal Court Administration I, II, III, IV courses are preferred.

 
 
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Candidate must be an accredited Deputy Court Administrator or be in the process of being certified as set forth in Rule 1:41-3.  The hiring process will comply with Rule 1:34-3, adopted September 13, 2011.
