Course Description

PMIS -Personnel Management Information System (pre-requisite web-based training description)

Course length: 70 minutes

The Personnel Management Information System (PMIS) is the human resources information system used exclusively by state human resources staff. This training offers a blended learning approach and is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of PMIS from an inquiry and application perspective. During this interactive web-based training, learners will gain a basic understanding of what PMIS is and its uses. Additionally, learners will explore various types of transactions and requests, appropriate PMIS codes, and the corresponding PMIS screens.

Note: This is a pre-requisite to the PMIS instructor-led class. You will need to "successfully" complete this training within the assigned timeframe to be enrolled in the Instructor-led class.

 

 

PMIS -Personnel Management Information System Course Description

The instructor led portion of the class focuses on applying the knowledge and skills explained during the pre-requisite web-based training. Users be able to utilize their knowledge of the system and its functions to enhance their overall efficiency with carrying out PMIS related tasks. Relatedly, learners will be taught how to interpret and apply Title 4A rules and regulations in processing transactions including how to compute the various calculations required to create and maintain State employees’ personnel records accurately.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define the major components of PMIS
  • Distinguish the purpose of each PMIS Screen
  • Recognize the appropriate PMIS reason codes for transactions
  • Review fundamental tips to process PMIS requests
  • Use Title 4A rules, regulations, and other reference materials to review various calculations necessary to complete PMIS transactions

Registration Information

Learning Management System Users:  Please login into your Learning Management System account and navigate to “Now Enrolling” from the “Browse” drop-down menu.  Select the training you wish to register for and click “Enroll.” This will initiate the required approval process.   

External participants, can click here to complete the HR-1 Training Authorization Form. Your direct supervisor, departmental training coordinator, and fiscal officer must approve the form. HR-1's received without proper approval will be returned to the Department's Training Coordinator.

Please note: You are not scheduled for the requested classroom training until you receive an official email confirmation from CLIP.
