The DCF Regional School, Passaic Campus is an alternative school that provides both special education and regular education services for students from ages 3 – 21 years of age on an SFEA or tuition basis. The focus of the program is to provide each student with the necessary skills to function more independently in the home, school, and community.
The Passaic Campus offers a wide variety of supplemental and support services. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch are provided for each student. An Individualized Program Plan (IPP) or an Individual Education Plan (IEP) will be developed for each student (including Due Process Appeal Procedures). Students participate in age-appropriate statewide assessments and are continuously evaluated throughout the year to assure that their program is appropriate to their individual needs and requirements.
PRE-SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
Preschool age children who have been classified by the Child Study Teams of their local school districts as Eligible for Special Education and Related Services attend an inclusive 5 day a week full day program. Teachers in the preschool rooms are dually certified in early childhood education and teacher of students with disabilities. Children whose IEP indicate a need for speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy may receive these services as part of our integrated therapy model. Students also have access to an enclosed outside play area where they can engage in outdoor activities, including water play when the weather is appropriate.
EXCEPTIONAL NEEDS
Passaic Campus’ exceptional needs program provides educational services to students, ages 3 – 21 that exhibit severe cognitive, physical, behavioral, and emotional disabilities. Students are provided transportation with CPR trained staff and bus drivers, as well as breakfast and lunch are included. Students will receive classroom based integrated therapies such as Occupational therapy, Speech Therapy and Physical Therapy as indicated in their IEPs. Students also have access to an enclosed outdoor area where they can engage in outdoor activities, including gardening.
