DRBC Looking for Members for Newly Formed Advisory Committee on Climate Change

In December 2019, the DRBC adopted Resolution 2019-8, establishing the Advisory Committee on Climate Change (ACCC).

The DRBC is currently looking for individuals with relevant expertise to fill up to nine non-reserved membership spots on the committee.

The nine non-reserved members will represent the following stakeholder categories:

  • Academic or Research Institutions
  • Watershed or Environmental Organizations
  • Business or Industry
  • Water or Wastewater Utilities

In the appointment of members, preference shall be given to individuals actively working on climate change impacts, preferably in the Delaware River Basin.

Non-Reserved Members shall be appointed for terms of up to two years and may be re-appointed according to the procedures outlined here.

Committee Information

The objectives of the ACCC shall be to provide the Commission with scientifically based information and recommendations for identifying and prioritizing:

  • Threats and vulnerabilities affecting the Basin’s water resources due to climate change and accompanying sea level rise.
  • Science-based future climate scenarios for Basin water resource planning.
  • Water resources planning, monitoring, research and regulations that will support mitigation, adaptation and resiliency to climate change in the Delaware River Basin.
