Go Deep! Join Us For DRBC's Upper Delaware Day

DRBC's Upper Delaware Day is happening June 5, 2024,
at the Tusten Theatre in Narrowsburg, N.Y.

The Delaware River's deepest point is at Narrowsburg, N.Y., in the Town of Tusten, where the Big Eddy Narrows reaches 113 feet deep.

On June 5, the Delaware River Basin Commission will gather in Narrowsburg to "go deep" for its second-quarter business meeting and wraparound programming celebrating the nature and communities of the Upper Delaware in New York.

Please join the Delaware River Basin Commission, our Commission staff, community organizations, government partners and other invited guests for a day of programming free and open to the public. Events will be held at the Tusten Theatre; free parking is available in the adjacent municipal lot.

10:30 a.m.  – 12 p.m. DRBC's Second-Quarter Business Meeting

12 noon – 1 p.m. Public Comments

  Following the DRBC Business Meeting, register to speak at an open public comment session. These sessions provide an opportunity for community members to speak about management of the Basin's waters and topics related to DRBC's mission.

  In-person comments are encouraged and will be given priority. For those who register to participate and note they cannot attend in person, remote platform details will be provided directly to them. Attendees are subject to DRBC's meeting procedures and security screening.

1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Film screening and discussion, Our Shared Waters: A Flight Along the Delaware

  Join us for a relaxed afternoon screening of Our Shared Waters: A Flight Along the Delaware and panel discussion about the Upper Delaware, moderated by Meg McGuire, Delaware Currents. Panelists will be Kerry Engelhardt, Resources & Land Use Specialist, Upper Delaware Council, Dan Corrigan, Owner, Northeast Wilderness Experience & Sawmill Cycles & Brent Gotsch, Technical Advisor, New York City Department of Environmental Protection.

  Panelists will discuss success stories and management challenges for the Upper Delaware River, stakeholder efforts to educate the public and decisionmakers about the state of the Basin, and opportunities available for businesses, governments, nonprofits and individuals to support its continued sustainability now and for future generations.

We know that food insecurity is a pressing challenge in many of the Upper Delaware River Basin's communities. By leading a food donation drive to support local partners, we are taking a small step to give back to communities throughout our shared waters.
