Authorized to Teach
The Emergency Medical Technicians #4114 endorsement entitles the holder to teach in New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE)-approved career and technical education (CTE) courses in the following programs, and programs of study under the following Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) codes.

Employment experience requirements can be met using one of the following:
- Full-time or part-time employment, or both (not self-employment)
- Self-employment
- Military qualifications and training
- Acute fluid and respiratory disorders
- Cardiac life support
- Electrocardiography
- Emergency medical care
- Emergency medical techniques
- Medical emergencies
- Paramedic cardiology
- Paramedic theory
- Paramedic trauma management
- Pediatric life support
- Pharmacology for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider
Candidates must submit a copy of their current credential issued by the New Jersey Department of Health for at least one of the following state-issued credentials:
- Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT) Program Coordinator
- Lead Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT) Instructor
- Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT) Instructor

Note: All EMT programs offered at school districts must meet the requirements of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
Employment experience is only required if the candidate is obtaining certification using one of the following:
- Grade point average (GPA) exception under Option 1: Bachelor's Degree or Higher
- Option 2: Associate Degree with Employment Experience
- Option 3: Employment Experience Only
Candidates using option 1 without the GPA exception are not required to have employment experience.
