District Equity Story

Expanding Early College Pathways

Lower Cape May Regional School District focused on building a strong pipeline to advanced coursework by expanding access to honors, pre-AP, and dual credit opportunities. Through its Early College Program in partnership with Atlantic Cape Community College and Stockton University, students had access to over 50 dual credit courses, including ten AP courses that offered dual credit options. These expanded pathways ensured students were academically prepared and confident to pursue rigorous coursework.

Removing Financial Barriers

Lower Cape May Regional School District reduced financial barriers through its partnership with Stockton University, which provided free dual credit opportunities for students eligible for free or reduced lunch. This initiative ensured that cost did not prevent students from enrolling in advanced coursework and earning college credit.

Professional Learning and Student Support

Lower Cape May Regional School District provided academic support through programs such as Caper Connections, an after-school tutoring initiative. Professional development for staff emphasized inclusive instructional practices and culturally responsive teaching, reinforcing a districtwide commitment to supporting all students in advanced coursework.
