Dr. Thomas Haveron - Commissioner

Dr. Thomas Haveron was born in Newark, New Jersey, to Thomas and Marion Haveron in 1961. Orphaned by the age of six, he learned many valuable lessons, most of all, how loving and charitable others can be when called upon to help.

Dr. Haveron attended Seton Hall prep and did his undergraduate work at Seton Hall University. After completing three years of undergraduate coursework, Dr. Haveron received acceptance into Life Chiropractic University in Marietta, Georgia, at the age of 21. He attended Life University from 1983 through 1986, obtaining his Doctor of Chiropractic in October 1986.

After graduation, he did a one-year internship outside of Detroit, Michigan. In 1987, he passed the New Jersey Chiropractic Board and was licensed to practice in his home state. In 1988, he returned to New Jersey and opened his first practice. Since then, he has had the opportunity to treat tens of thousands of people in the counties of Essex, Hudson, Bergen, Monmouth, Middlesex, and many more. He’s been blessed to have people travel from many states just to come under his care, as well as treating international ambassadors and employees from the United Nations.

Dr. Haveron formally served as the team chiropractor for the New Jersey/Brooklyn, Nets, Trenton Thunder, AA affiliate of the New York Yankees, New York Metro stars, now known as the NY Red Bulls, Newark Bears, and countless other professional athletes/entertainers in MLB, MLBP, NBA, NASCAR, MLS, World Arm Wrestling League, and more. Dr Haveron was fortunate enough in 2011 to travel with the USA team for the USA versus Taiwan series held in Taiwan.

He has been a member of SAG since 2007. He received the FBI community leadership award representing the State of New Jersey in Washington D.C. in 2015. He has been a member of the transition team for Health and Human Services under Governor McGreevy and served on a committee at the Department of Banking & Insurance as a patient /physician advocate from 2002-2004. He’s served on various boards, FOCUS, Life Camp, and Columbus Hospital Foundation.

Dr. Haveron began a 501(c), the MVP Foundation, in 2011; since then and before, he has personally raised and donated millions of dollars to numerous charities, including the Ronald McDonald House, Catholic Community Services, Red Cross, and countless local and international causes. He is a member of the New Jersey Chiropractic Association, American Chiropractic Association, as well as past member of the Association of Catholic Chiropractic’s, having had audiences with Pope John Paul II on several occasions, International Chiropractic Association, and New York State Chiropractic Association.

He has mentored as well as given scholarships to college-bound students who have gone on to be endocrinologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, psychologists, entertainers, law enforcement officers, chiropractors, and therapists. He has served communities in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania as well as abroad, working with children/communities in the Dominican Republic, Curaçao, Honduras, Panama, Poland, Brazil, Kenya, Cuba, India, and Egypt, to name a few.

He and his wife Annabel, as well as his son Aidan, are avid travelers. Dr. Haveron has been a Proud member and Commissioner of the Motion Picture and Television Commission since 2008.
