🎬 A Grant That Does More Than Fund Films

Now in its 35th year, the Roy W. Dean Grants—sponsored by the nonprofit From the Heart Productions—have helped filmmakers complete meaningful films and bring them to audiences worldwide.

Their Roy W. Dean Short Film Grant is open to:

✔ Narrative Short Films (Live Action or Animated)
✔ Students and emerging filmmakers
✔ Projects that are unique and make a contribution to society

💰 What Filmmakers Receive

Selected winner receives $3,000 cash plus thousands in donated services:

💵 $3,000 cash grant from From the Heart Productions

🎥 $15,000 Panavision grant for 35mm or 16mm camera and equipment (live action only)

🎼 $3,000 in music and audio services from acclaimed composer David Raiklen

🎨 Up to $6,000 in animation services (delivered as a $1,000/week discount for up to six weeks) with Emmy Award–winning animator Charlie Canfield
