CHPRD Now Accepting Grant Applications for Fiscal Year 2027 to Support Hispanic Community-Based Initiatives

Trenton - The Center for Hispanic Policy, Research, and Development (CHPRD) is accepting applications for its FY2027 grant program. This funding opportunity supports Hispanic community-based non-profits across New Jersey in various sectors.

The FY2027 grant program focuses on enhancing the quality of life for Hispanic communities by supporting initiatives in the following areas:

  • Hispanic Entrepreneurship: Promoting business education and mentorship for aspiring business owners.
  • Citizenship and Integration: Assisting immigrants with integration, citizenship, legal services, and community support.
  • Workforce Development: Offering programs to improve job skills and employment prospects.
  • Youth Workforce Investment: Supporting educational programs for at-risk youth to prepare for careers.
  • Community Service: Supporting culturally competent community service programs that strengthen neighborhoods.
  • Health and Wellness: Addressing health disparities and promoting healthcare access.

CHPRD aims to foster positive social, educational, and economic outcomes for Hispanic communities in New Jersey. Through these grants, CHPRD seeks to collaborate with organizations dedicated to addressing the unique needs of these communities.

As our staff views the impact of our grant programs, we see the real difference they make in the lives of Hispanic communities across New Jersey. The FY2027 grant program reflects CHPRD’s commitment to fostering growth and opportunity in key areas such as entrepreneurship, workforce development, and health and wellness.

Grant Application Process:

The application deadline for FY2027 grants is Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. via the System for Administering Grants Electronically (SAGE). No paper applications will be accepted. Troubleshooting calls must be made by 11:00 a.m. on the deadline date. Any significant changes affecting staffing, programming, or finances after the application deadline should be communicated to CHPRD in writing.

Grant awards will be announced by July 2026. This timeline allows CHPRD to review all submissions and select organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to the priorities outlined.

CHPRD will host an in-person Information Session on January 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Trenton, New Jersey, to guide applicants for Fiscal Grant Year 2027. The session will cover grant eligibility, application procedures, and funding opportunities. Attendees can ask questions and gain a clear understanding of the application process. Registration details will be provided closer to the event date.

About the Center for Hispanic Policy, Research, and Development (CHPRD):
Established in 1975 and housed within the New Jersey Department of State, CHPRD addresses the needs of the Hispanic community. Beyond oversight of the Governor’s Hispanic Fellows Program, CHPRD invests in Hispanic Community-Based Organizations and provides annual grant funding for non-profit applicants focused on Entrepreneurship, Citizenship and Integration, Workforce Development, and Community Service.
