Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 19
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 19 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Passaic County:
i. In the City of Clifton:
(1) For the northbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 35 MPH between 100 feet south of Colfax Avenue and Grove Street (approximate mileposts 0.0 to 0.46); thence
(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between Grove Street and 900 feet north of the overpass of the southbound entrance to the Garden State Parkway (approximate mileposts 0.46 to 0.67); thence
(C) Zone 3: 55 MPH between 900 feet north of the overpass of the southbound entrance to the Garden State Parkway and the City of Clifton-City of Paterson corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.67 to 1.63); thence
(2) For the southbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 35 MPH between 100 feet south of Colfax Avenue and 250 feet south of the overpass to the southbound exit of the Garden State Parkway and (approximate mileposts 0.00 to 0.29); thence
(B) Zone 2: 50 MPH between 250 feet south of the overpass to the southbound exit of the Garden State Parkway and 750 feet north of the overpass of the northbound ramp to Broad Street (approximate mileposts 0.29 to 0.60); thence
(C) Zone 3: 55 MPH between the 750 feet north of the overpass of the northbound ramp to Broad Street and City of Clifton-City of Paterson corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.60 to 1.63); thence
ii. In the City of Paterson:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the City of Clifton-City of Paterson corporate line and 1,400 feet south of Route I-80 (approximate mileposts 1.63 to 2.19); thence
(2) For the northbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between 1,400 feet south of Route I-80 and 500 feet north of Route I-80 (approximate mileposts 2.19 to 2.55); thence
(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between 500 feet north of Route I-80 and Marshall Street (approximate mileposts 2.55 to 2.91); thence
(3) For the southbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between 1,400 feet south of Route I-80 and Marshall Street (approximate mileposts 1.63 to 2.91).
NOTE: State Highway Route NJ 19 is under Passaic County jurisdiction from approximate mileposts 2.91 and 3.04.
