Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 55
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 55 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Cumberland County:
NOTE: Begin Route NJ 55 at milepost 20.00.
i. In the Township of Maurice River:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the southernmost intersection of Route NJ 47 and 4,160 feet north of Route NJ 47 (Beginning of the center median) (approximate mileposts 20.00 to 20.80); thence
(B) Zone 2: 55 MPH between 4,160 feet north of Route NJ 47 (Beginning of center median) and Schooner Landing Road (approximate mileposts 20.80 to 21.49); thence
(C) Zone 3: 65 MPH between Schooner Landing Road and the Maurice River Township - City of Millville corporate line (approximate mileposts 21.49 to 21.75); thence
ii.In the City of Millville:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 21.75 to 26.30 and mileposts 27.65 to 29.43); thence
iii.In the City of Vineland:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 26.30 to 27.65 and mileposts 29.43 to 38.32); thence
2. In Salem County:
i.In the Township of Pittsgrove:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 38.32 to 38.50); thence
3. In Gloucester County:
i. In the Township of Franklin:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 38.50 to 43.85); thence
ii. In the Borough of Clayton:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 43.85 to 44.07); thence
ii. In the Township of Elk:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 44.07 to 48.47); thence
iii. In the Borough of Glassboro:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 48.47 to 49.44); thence
iv. In the Township of Harrison:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 49.44 to 50.92); thence
v. In the Township of Mantua:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 50.92 to 54.32); thence
vi. In the Township of Washington:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH within the corporate limits (approximate mileposts 54.32 to 54.74); thence
vii. In the Township of Deptford:
(1) For the northbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH between the Washington Township - Deptford Township corporate line and 800 feet north of Cooper Street (mileposts 54.74 to 58.48); thence
(B) Zone 2: 55 MPH between 800 feet north of Cooper Street and Route NJ 42 (mileposts 58.48 to 60.53); thence
(2) For the southbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 65 MPH between Route NJ 42 and the Deptford Township - Washington Township corporate line (mileposts 60.53 to 54.74).
