Obtaining a Child Care License for Facilities with Prior Approval Letters

New and/or relocating child care centers opening on a property for which one of the following letters has been issued:

  • Child Care Facility Approval (CCFA) letter
  • No Further Action (NFA) letter issued by the Child Care/Educational Facility Unit
  • Child Care Response Action Outcome (RAO)
Contact DCF Office of Licensing at 1-877-667-9845 to determine if the issuance of a license can be based on a DCF-Environmental Attestation Form.

Please note: If site conditions have changed, the child care facility owner/operator may need to hire a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) to evaluate the property and issue a Response Action Outcome (RAO). For more information, please visit How to obtain an RAO.

New and/or relocating child care centers opening on a property for which one of the following letters has been issued:

  • Non-Child Care RAO
  • Non-Child Care No Further Action (NFA)

Environmental conditions must be re-evaluated by a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) for issuance of a child care Response Action Outcome (RAO). For more information, please see the Guidance for the Environmental Evaluation for Child Care Centers. (Coming soon)
