1. Request for Stakeholder Input - Extension Until Close of Business May 24, 2010

On April 19, 2010, the Department published Step 2 of a Request for Stakeholder Input on its Web site. Step 2 listed six broad-based issues concerning the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites (ARRCS) rules, N.J.A.C. 7:26C and asked interested parties to submit their ideas concerning these issues by May 17, 2010. The six issues were received from interested parties in response to Step 1 of the Request for Stakeholder Input published on February 23, 2010. Due to the complexity of the issues raised during Step 1 and the importance of receiving input from parties who may be affected by the ARRCS rule, the Department is extending the deadline for submitting ideas until close of business May 24, 2010. Please submit all ideas concerning these issues to SRRA@dep.nj.gov.. Please ensure that the subject line reads: Stakeholder Input.

3. Updates to "Phase in period guidance" for the Remediation Standards (N.J.A.C. 7:26D)

The Department has updated the "Phase in period guidance" for the Remediation Standards (N.J.A.C. 7:26D). The change in the document is to update a citation to the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (N.J.A.C. 7:26E; Tech Regs). The citation needed to be updated based on the amendments to the Tech Regs that were adopted as part of the specially adopted rules package on November 4, 2009 implementing the Site Remediation Reform Act. This explanation is included in the updated document. The correct citation is N.J.A.C. 7:26E-1.3(c).
