[EXTERNAL]: Remedial Action Permit Application and Remedial Action Report Submittal Frequently Asked Questions and Flow Charts now available

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Contaminated Site Remediation & Redevelopment (CSRR) is pleased to announce the availability of the Remedial Action Permit Application and Remedial Action Report Submittal Frequently Asked Questions and Flow Charts. The document was created through a stakeholder committee, the Effective Collaborative Communications Committee (ECCC), consisting of CSRR staff, Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs), and Industry representatives. The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are designed to assist in addressing administrative and technical issues noted in Remedial Action Permit (RAP) Application submittals and improve DEP's efficiency in processing RAP Applications. The flow charts are designed to help LSRPs and responsible parties understand the DEP's process of reviewing RAP Applications and Remedial Action Reports (RARs).

The Remedial Action Permit Application and Remedial Action Report Submittal Frequently Asked Questions and Flow Charts includes answers to FAQs related to the submittal of Remedial Action Permit Applications and the Remedial Action Report. The FAQs contain questions and answers related to the following topics:

  • Notice of Incomplete (NOI) RAP Application Questions
  • RAP Application Administrative Questions
  • Financial Assurance Questions
  • RAP Application Technical Questions
  • Remedial Action Report Administrative Questions
  • Receptor Evaluation Questions

The document also provides separate flow charts that illustrate the following CSRR review processes:

  • the Bureau of Inspection & Review's (BIR's) process of reviewing RARs
  • the Bureaus of Case Assignment & Initial Notice (BCAIN) and Remedial Action Permitting's (BRAP's) process of reviewing RAP Applications

Additionally, the document includes a list of potentially applicable DEP guidance documents that may be used when submitting a RAP Application.
