The purpose of Artemis (Records Retention and Disposition Management System) is to provide efficiencies across State, County, and Municipal agencies in addressing many of the Records Management functions, processes, and services offered by NJDORES, Records Management Services in accordance with the Destruction of Public Records Act, Chapter 410, PL 1953.

During the initial phase, Artemis is designed to offer the functions listed below for County and Municipal governments: 

  • Lookup and download agency specific retention schedules
  • Maintain agency level profile on Artemis including information on various certified systems in use at the Agency. A County or Municipality can create multiple user accounts on the Artemis
  • County or Municipality can create multiple user accounts on the Artemis
  • Electronic submission of Request and Authorization for Records Disposal, including online status update
  • Management Reports

In the future, Artemis will be expanded to support State Agencies and may include other NJDORES, Records Management services related to Imaging Certification, Imaging Services and Micrographics, and Records Storage. FAQs

What are the benefits to ARTEMIS?

Retention Schedules can be searched electronically. Agencies can submit Disposition requests electronically and track the status electronically. Using this system will improve agency and DORES, Records Management Services work flow.

Is there a fee to use this website?

There is no charge to use this system.

What are the System Requirements for Artemis?

Hardware: Pentium III or Higher with 512 MB memory and 1 GB of Free Space, TWAIN Compatible Scanner and Windows Supported Laser Printer.

Supported Platforms: Windows XP or Vista

Software: Acrobat Reader 5.0 or Higher.

Internet Browsers: Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0 or 8.0

Resolution: 1024X768 or higher

Internet Connection: Broad Band Connection or Higher

Requirements for pre-scanned images that will be uploaded: 300 DPI Resolution and Black & White TIFF file type images.

I can't see Images. How do I view the Images?

Upon Login “First time users Click Here” link is available. Click on the link and follow instructions.

I am using Windows XP and am not able to install the Imaging Module Permissions Access tool. What do I need to do?

To install the Imaging Module Access Permissions tool in Vista, please do the following:

• Login to your PC with a login having administrative rights.

• Right click your mouse on the Internet Explorer icon and select ‘Run as administrator’ option.

• Go to the Artemis web site and install the Imaging Module Access Permissions
tool.

• Close the browser.

• Right click your mouse on the Internet Explorer icon and select ‘Run as administrator’ option.

• Go to the Artemis web site and access the scan control to view any of the attached images. You only need to do this one time with the ‘Run as administrator’ option after the Imaging Module Access Permissions tool is installed.

Once you have completed the above steps, all administrator and non administrator users will be able to view and scan/load images.
