Language Access Law

Nearly a third of New Jerseyans age five and older speak a language other than English, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 American Community Survey. Among those 2.6 million people, more than 38 percent speak English “less than very well.” On January 12, 2024, Governor Murphy enacted P.L. 2023, c.263 (“Language Access Law”), which requires certain State agencies and departments that provide direct services to the public to meet specific language access requirements. The Casino Control Commission (“Commission”) provides direct services and information to the general public as defined in the Language Access Law and is therefore subject to this law.

In accordance with the requirements of the Language Access Law, this website provides for the following:

Translation of Vital Documents and Information

The Commission provides all vital documents and information on this website. Translation of Vital Documents and Information is available as follows:

  • Information
    • To translate information presented on this website, select the “Translate” button in the uppermost navigation pane on any webpage of this site. In the drop-down field that appears, select the language in which you require translation. A translated version of the webpage will appear.
  • Vital Documents
    • The New Jersey Casino Control Commission makes PDF documents of our forms and files available to be downloaded as PDF and Fillable PDF Forms that can be translated into a different language using Google Translate. For instructions of how to download PDF and Fillable PDF Forms, please visit the links below:

      1. Download/save the PDF directly to your computer or device.
      2. Visit Google Translate (https://translate.google.com) and select the “Documents” icon.
      3. Drag and drop or browse to select the PDF file you wish to translate.
      4. At the top left of the screen choose “English.”
      5. On the top right of the screen, choose the language you wish the PDF to be translated.
      6. Click “Translate.”
      7. Once the translation is completed, you may choose to open or download your translation.
  • Interpreting Services
    • The Commission has retained interpreting services as required by the Language Access Law. To access interpreting services at no cost to you, contact the Commission’s Language Access Coordinator via email, and specify the language in which you require interpreting services. You will receive a timely reply via email with specific instructions on how to access interpreting services in the language you specify.
