The Chief Librarian will supervise a team of staff and provide oversight of collection development, acquisitions, cataloging, processing of library materials including software and systems used to manage these processes; provide oversight over a robust collection of material such as print, digital and e-learning resources including expanding collection of devices on loan; evaluate new formats for inclusion and meet the needs and interests of a diverse and changing population; manage and administer a nearly $900,000 budget and control expenditures; work with system-wide collection merchandising and improve reading engagement in the community; determine and allocate resources needed to accomplish team work assignments.

A Master's degree in Library or Information Science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master's Program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State University.

Four years of professional librarian experience in providing general library services, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring teams leading to employee engagement and a collaborative work environment.
