[SRRA]: NJDEP Site Remediation & Waste Management Program Announces the Availability of New Technical Guidance: Historically Applied Pesticides Sites Technical Guidance Document Description: This technical guidance provides a more streamlined approach to the identification, investigation, delineation and remediation of sites that may be impacted by Historically Applied Pesticides (HAP). The goal of the document is to provide information that investigators can use to determine if HAP are present and the best way to address HAP. This Technical Guidance was developed with stakeholder input by the NJDEP's Historic Pesticides Technical Guidance Committee. The Department would like to thank Chris Dwyer and Lynne Mitchell (DEP Committee Co-Chairs) and all the members of the Historic Pesticides Technical Guidance Committee for their time and effort in developing this guidance. The Technical Guidance and associated response to Comments document are available for viewing and downloading on the SRWMP's Guidance Library webpage at https://www.nj.gov/dep/srp/guidance Technical guidance may be used immediately upon issuance. However, the Department recognizes the challenge of using newly issued technical guidance when a remediation affected by the guidance may have already been conducted or is currently in progress. To provide for the reasonable implementation of new technical guidance, the Department will allow a 6-month "phase-in" period between the date the technical guidance is issued final (or revised) and the time it should be used. |
