[EXTERNAL]: Remediation Timeframe Notifications

The purpose of this listserv is twofold: to remind persons responsible for conducting remediation (PRCRs) of their obligation to meet remediation timeframes, and to remind Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs) of the requirements in the Regulations of the New Jersey Site Remediation Professional Licensing Board (Board) at N.J.A.C. 7:26I-6.8(b) and (c) regarding notification to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the PRCR when remediation timeframes are unlikely to be met.

Please review previously issued listservs and guidance on the above subject, including but not limited to:

In order to determine remediation timeframes for cases for which they are retained, LSRPs are advised to run the Data Miner "Case Tracking Tool by LSRP" report, which can be found at https://www13.state.nj.us/DataMiner/Search/SearchByCategory?isExternal=y&getCategory=y&catName=Site+Remediation. Once in Data Miner, go to the "Case Tracking" section and select the report noted above. This report is based on an LSRP’s license number and is generated directly from the most current data recorded in the DEP database. The report lists each site for which the LSRP is retained with the associated timeframe due dates.

Please note: The mandatory timeframes may be determined per the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (N.J.A.C. 7:26E) and the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites Rule (N.J.A.C. 7:26C). Use the appropriate regulatory timeframes to determine your mandatory timeframes, considering any extensions or lengtheners.

Similarly, PRCRs can review remediation timeframes for their cases by going to the same section in Data Miner and selecting either "Case Tracking Tool by Selected Organization Responsible for the Remediation" or "Case Tracking Tool by Selected PI Number" and entering the appropriate information.

As noted above, the responsibility to monitor remediation timeframes lies with the PRCR and LSRP. As such, the DEP does not intend to issue any additional reminders regarding upcoming remediation timeframes.
