[EXTERNAL]: Reminder - LSRP requirement to notify when timeframes will not be met

This is a reminder from the Site Remediation Professional Licensing Board (Board) to licensed site remediation professionals (LSRPs) that notification must be made to the Person Responsible for Conducting the Remediation (PRCR) that a regulatory timeframe will not be met, pursuant to the Regulations of the New Jersey Site Remediation Professional Licensing Board, N.J.A.C. 7:26I-6.8(b), and notification must be made to both the PRCR and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (Department) when a mandatory or expedited site-specific remediation timeframe will not be met, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:26I-6.8(c). A courtesy copy of the Board rules is available at www.nj.gov/lsrpboard/board/rules/njac7_26i.pdf.

The notification to the Department must be made on the form "Notice of Failure to Comply with a Mandatory or Expedited Site-Specific Remediation Timeframe" available at www.nj.gov/dep/srp/srra/forms/notice_to_comply_form.pdf?version_1_0.

The submittal of a request to the Department for an extension to a timeframe using the "Remedial Timeframe Notification Form" (www.nj.gov/dep/srp/srra/forms/rem_timeframe_notification.pdf?version_1_3) does NOT fulfill the notification requirement of N.J.A.C. 7:26I-6.8(c).

Questions may be directed to Dana Haymes at SRPLBoardContact@dep.nj.gov or 609-984-3424.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is pleased to announce that the Historically Applied Pesticide Technical Guidance Document has been revised from Version 3.0 (November 2018) to Version 3.1 (February 2022). Minor changes were made to the document including updated references to N.J.A.C. 7:26D Remediation Standards and an added explanation in Sections 5 and 9 of which Notice should be used in the Response Action Outcome (RAO) if historically applied pesticide remains on the site. These changes were made in an effort to be consistent with the Response Action Outcome Guidance Document that was updated November 2021. For a complete list of changes, please see the corresponding change log.

The updated guidance and change log can be found on the SRP Guidance Library (www.nj.gov/dep/srp/guidance/). The previous version of this document can be found on the SRP Guidance Library Archive (www.nj.gov/dep/srp/guidance/archive/).
