[EXTERNAL]: Surface Water Quality Standards Stakeholder Meeting, 6/28

Dear Stakeholder,

You are cordially invited to participate in a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) stakeholder meeting to share information, discuss and solicit input on anticipated amendments to the Surface Water Quality Standards (SWQS), located at New Jersey Administrative Code 7:9B. The anticipated SWQS rule amendments will include updated and new human health criteria for 94 toxic substances primarily based on recommendations published by the USEPA in 2015, and new human health criteria for contaminants of emerging concern: 1,4-dioxane, and three perfluoroalkyl substances which are commonly known as PFAS: perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS). This rule proposal is a priority for the NJDEP.
