[EXTERNAL]: Dry Cleaner Case Type available in DataMiner and in Online Services

Contaminated Site Remediation & Redevelopment (CSRR) added a Dry Cleaner case type in DEP DataMiner to identify all cases that involve the investigation of former and/or current dry cleaner operations. The Dry Cleaner case type will allow the user to generate a list of active and closed dry cleaner remedial cases through DataMiner reports. It will also allow for easy identification of cases involving the investigation and remediation of dry cleaner operations in a GIS format.

Please note the Dry Cleaner case type would not be applicable at a former and/or current dry cleaning facility if the area of concern under investigation is not related to the dry cleaning operations (e.g., a heating oil tank remediation at a dry cleaner with no other active remediations).

The ability to add the Dry Cleaner case type is now available through the NJDEP Site Remediation online services for the following submissions: Confirmed Discharge Notification, Preliminary Assessment, Site Investigation Report, Remedial Investigation Report, Remedial Action Workplan, Remedial Action Report, and Response Action Outcome. Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs) should include the Dry Cleaner case type, if appropriate, during the submission of these documents. The following language will now appear in the online service for these document submittals to prompt LSRPs to add the Dry Cleaner case type when applicable:

The Dry Cleaner case type should be included for all cases where the investigation of former and/or current dry cleaning operations occurred, even in the event where the operations were investigated, and no contamination was identified as being associated with the dry cleaning operations.

Be advised that the Dry Cleaner case type has already been added to existing CSRR cases when it was evident that the case pertained to the investigation of former/current dry cleaning operations.

Questions regarding this process should be directed to njdeponlinesupport@dep.nj.gov.
