Sarah Beganskas is the Manager of Water Quality Assessment at the Delaware River Basin Commission. In this role, she supervises a team of scientists to develop water quality standards for Basin waters, advance regulations to maintain and improve water quality, plan and conduct water quality monitoring studies and prepare water quality assessments. She also leads a cross-disciplinary team to develop the Commission's Water Resources Resilience Plan and serves as staff liaison to the Advisory Committee on Climate Change.
Sarah joined the Commission in May 2021 as a Water Resource Scientist, working cross-sectionally to support the Water Quality Modeling, Water Resource Planning and Water Resource Operations teams. Before joining the Commission, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Temple University, where she led field and modeling research evaluating how different restoration approaches impact stream temperature, turbidity and nutrients in urban tributaries to the Delaware River.
Sarah earned a B.A. in Computer Science and Geology from Amherst College and a Ph.D. in Hydrology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
