New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment-Adaptive, New Jersey Student Learning Assessments-Adaptive and New Jersey Student Learning Assessment-Science

The New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment-Adaptive (NJGPA-A) and the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments-Adaptive (NJSLA-A) are adaptive assessments aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for English language arts (ELA) and mathematics and are designed to continue to give students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in a meaningful way. These assessments reflect an effort to improve the testing experience while maintaining a strong connection to the NJSLS.

The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment–Science (NJSLA–S) is a fixed-form assessment aligned with the NJSLS for science. The NJSLA-S focuses on applying scientific concepts and practices within the domains of Earth & space, life, and physical science. Students demonstrate knowledge and skills through assessment tasks that examine students' performance of scientific and engineering practices in the context of crosscutting concepts and disciplinary core ideas.
