Purpose: The New Jersey Green Program of Study is a four year pilot program to establish and pilot model four year programs of study (grades 9-12) in developing 'green-focused' career and technical education (CTE) programs for sustainable design, sustainable energy, and green construction in order to prepare secondary and post-secondary students for emerging green-focused careers. The outcome of the pilot program will be the improvement of the preparation of, and increase in the number of, secondary and post-secondary students entering the emerging green-focused career paths of sustainable design, sustainable energy, and green construction. The New Jersey Green Program of Study grant program is a continuation grant, awarded in the first year through a MOU to Essex County Vocational-Technical Schools. This NGO covers the fourth year of a five-year grant cycle. Based on the availability of state resources, this second year of the grant program will begin November 1, 2013 and end October 31, 2014.
