Purpose: The Extended Learning Program Activities (ELPA) Year 2 of 3 is pilot program, using funds awarded under the federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers program, which was developed to support enrichment and engaging activities that are part of an expanded learning program that 1. Provides students with at least 300 additional program hours before, during, or after the traditional school day; 2. Supplements but does not supplant regular school day requirements; and 3. It carries out by entities that meet federal priority requirements. Eligibility to apply for this ELPA grant is open to the grantee selected through a competitive process in Year 1. The second year of this three year program is September 1, 2018-August 31, 2019.
