Food Protection Manager Certification vs Food Handler Certification
Food Protection Manager Certification:
Appropriate for an individual who manages their own business or is in charge of food preparation.
Food Handler Certification:
Only appropriate for an individual who intends to handle food under the guidance and oversight of a Food Protection Manager, such as a kitchen worker in a restaurant.
Cottage Food Operators manage their own business. Therefore, Food Protection Manager Certification is required.
Food Protection Manager Certification Courses
The New Jersey Department of Health, Public Health and Food Protection Program, does not offer Food Protection Manager courses or programs. This office cannot provide status updates or copies of your Food Protection Manager certificate.
