Thank you for your interest in becoming a resource parent to children and youth in state care. In New Jersey, the number of youth in foster care continues to be reduced each year due to a focus on services that strengthen and assist families to prevent abuse and neglect, and the prioritization of kinship care when out of home placement is required. However, there is still a need for dedicated, compassionate individuals to step up and join the village of support for children in need and provide a temporary home while the children’s biological parents and case workers work toward the goal of reunification.
We are seeking passionate, committed individuals and families like YOU who can provide loving guidance and support to children while their birth families work towards reunification. Your unique skills, experiences, and heart can make a profound difference in a child’s life.
*CP&P will not preclude a person from being a foster parent based solely on their culture, religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, affectional orientation, or marital/civil union or domestic partnership status.
