A Guidebook for New Jersey Communities (pdf 12.6m) The New Jersey Micromobility Guide summarizes the laws and best practices that can make riders of e-bikes, e-scooters, and other low-speed devices safer. Micromobility is an affordable, energy-efficient, eco-friendly alternative to driving. For short-distance travel, it can replace car trips, which lowers transportation costs and helps to reduce congestion and parking demand on local streets. For longer trips, riders can often bring their micromobility devices onto public transportation, with some restrictions.

The New Jersey Micromobility Guide provides tips, answers common questions, and clarifies how different devices are regulated. It serves as a resource that promotes the safe and legal use of e-bikes, e-scooters, and other forms of micromobility throughout New Jersey.
