hazardous waste is identified as a "F",
"K", "P" or "U" listed
watse. A solid waste becomes a "hazardous waste" when it exhibits any of the characteristics that
are specified in the Federal Regulations on Listing
of Hazardous Waste (40 CFR Part 261). The general
characteristics of hazardous waste include, but
are not limited to, the following a) characteristics
of ignitability; b) characteristics of corrosivity;
c) characteristics of reactivity; d) toxicity characteristics.
