GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Byram Township is a New Jersey Civil Service Jurisdiction. (See NJ Civil Service Commission job specification for Police Officer, title code 02728).
Per N.J.A.C. 4A:4-7.1A(b) an intergovernmental transfer shall require the consent in writing of the sending jurisdiction.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum requirement High School Diploma or equivalent. Prefer candidates have a minimum 60 college credits or two (2) years active military service in which the applicant has received an honorable discharge or a combination of the two.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid New Jersey motor vehicle license
- Valid Basic Course for Police Officer Certificate issued by the NJ Police Training Commission
- Valid New Jersey Law Enforcement License
