Community
Relations Overview
In support of Contaminated Site Remediation & Redevelopment,
the Office of Community Relations (OCR) endeavors to provide
effective two-way communication and outreach with the public
including federal, state and local officials, as well as
concerned citizens, relative to contaminated sites and associated
remedial issues.
The Office of Community Relations maintains summaries
related to many, but not all, contaminated sites, and these
summaries are updated periodically as new information becomes
available. The OCR staff acts as a liaison between the various
involved entities, (i.e. EPA, DEP, local officials, responsible
parties etc.) to address inquiries from the public regarding
contaminated sites in their neighborhoods. Details of the
active cases are made available through the Community Relations
Site List which can be found at: www.nj.gov/dep/srp/community/sites
If you are interested in
a site that is not on the list, please call OCR for further
assistance at (609) 984-3081.
