Subject | [EXTERNAL]: SRP Preferred ID GIS Layer |
[EXTERNAL]: SRP Preferred ID GIS Layer The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Site Remediation and Waste Management Program (SRWMP) is pleased to announce the release of its new Geographical Information System (GIS) layer. This GIS layer displays all active, closed, and pending Site Remediation remedial cases with known or suspected contamination. For a specific Site Remediation case, this GIS layer, titled "SRP Preferred ID GIS layer," provides detailed information including case status (active, post-remedial, closed, pending), case oversight (Licensed Site Remediation Professional, Publicly Funded, Traditional Oversight, Unregulated Heating Oil Tank (UHOT), and Direct Oversight), the statute that initially brought the site to the Department's attention (i.e., Industrial Site Recovery Act, Underground Storage of Hazardous Substances Act, Spill Compensation and Control Act, etc.), the different case types associated with the case [ISRA, National Priorities List (Superfund), Coal Gas, etc.], the annual site remediation fee category, any institutional controls associated with the case, and much more. Detailed information concerning the SRP Preferred ID GIS layer can be accessed through the SRWMP Community Corner, a webpage designed specifically to keep New Jersey residents informed on SRWMP activities present within and proximal to their communities. Among the information provided via the SRWMP Community Corner posting are instructions on how to access the SRP Preferred ID GIS layer in the NJDEP Site Remediation Profile in NJ GeoWeb, and an explanation on the usage of the SRP Preferred ID GIS layer. An instructional video regarding the SRP Preferred ID GIS layer is also provided in the Community Corner posting. Questions regarding this GIS layer should be directed to the Bureau of Information Systems at 609-292-9418. |
