Purpose: The Family and Community Engagement Expansion Grant: Implementing the Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships is intended to help high need districts in their efforts to engage family and staff in partnering to develop college and career-ready students. The U.S. Department of Education developed a Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships. This grant program utilizes federal funding under Title I Part A for districts interested in using the Framework to align their existing family and community engagement activities. Eligibility to apply for this grant is open to NJ Title I school districts that 1) operate schoolwide Title I programs in 100 percent of their schools; 2) have a minimum district poverty rate of 75 percent; 3) have at least 40 percent of their Title I served schools designated as Priority and/or Focus schools; and 4) have an existing community-based family and community engagement program. Applicants may apply for up to $250,000 per award. This is a single 14 month grant program, and will run from July 1, 2015 through August 31, 2016.
