Purpose: The edConnect NJ Instructional Improvement System (IIS) Grant Program is a component of the Race to the Top Phase 3 (RTTT3) Initiative. This limited competitive grant program is intended to help support the implementation and integration of the state level IIS platform at the LEA and school level. The state level IIS platform is designed to support all LEAs in accessing Common Core State Standards (CCSS) aligned model curricula, formative assessments, student level data reports and more. This limited competitive grant program is open to all LEAs that 1) did not receive funding from the previous Instructional Improvement System NGO or 2) do not have one or more priority schools, two or more focus school or a combination of priority and focus schools within the LEA. Those LEAs with one or more priority schools, two or more focus school or a combination of priority and focus schools received funding for IIS implementation for all schools in the LEA through a separate funding mechanism. The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has established a 10 month grant program using RTTT3 funding. Based on the availability of federal resources, this ten month grant program will begin February 1, 2015 and end on November 30, 2015.
