Purpose: The Bridging the Device Gap is a state-funded reimbursement grant program open to LEAs and Charter Schools who will be participating in the Spring PARCC assessments and who have been identified using self reported NJTRAXx data as not yet possessing enough devices for students to take the PARCC assessments. LEAs and Charter Schools were required to update their device counts in NJTRAXx as of September 19, 2014. This data identified the gap between the number of devices needed by school to implement the Spring 2015 PARCC assessments with the number of devices currently in their possession. This gap, multiplied by $500 per device formed the basis for the maximum amount a LEA could initially apply for. This program would reimburse districts for device purchases made after November 1, 2014. Purchases made prior to that date would not be eligible for reimbursement. The maximum award under this program is $250,000. Eligibility to apply for this Bridging the Device Gap Grant is limited to LEAs and Charter Schools with device readiness status of 1-6. Final award amounts will be determined during pre-award revisions, as final gap figures are expected to reduce between September 19 and November 1. All devices purchased must be received, configured and deployed prior to the PARCC assessments. This is a single year program, from November 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015.
