Purpose: The goal of the New Jersey Charter Schools Grant Program Implementation 1 FY16 Grant is to increase the number of data driven highly effective and efficient Charter Schools. These charter schools will promote high student academic achievement for all children, including those with special needs, and help them meet the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Eligible applicants are charter schools that have been approved to open in September of 2013, or 2014. There are four charter schools that are currently eligible to apply for up to $175,000 each.The population to be served by this grant program consists of students in kindergarten through grade 12. This grant award is a two-year program. Year 1 of 2 is a three month grant program, which will be extended for an additional nine months pending approval of a no cost extension to the federal Charter Schools grant award by the USDE

Eligible Agencies: Received Final approval in July of 2014 or 2013 and have not received prior Implementation Charter School Program funds.
