Purpose: This Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) grant focuses on the HOSA CTSO. HOSA is a student organization, with chapters throughout New Jersey, focused on students preparing for careers in health and other allied medical professions. Participating students, through their local chapter, learn and practice leadership development, academic and technical skills and community involvement. Through this NGO, the successful grantee will provide statewide coordination and leadership in the development, management and administration of CTSO co-curricular activities, competitive events, award programs, student leadership activities and professional development for teachers and advisors. CTSO activities are aligned to New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and industry standards. This CTSO program is a competitive grant open to public secondary school districts as well as 2 and 4 year institutions of higher education in the State of New Jersey. This NGO covers the first year of a four-year grant cycle. Based on the availability of state resources, this first year of the grant program will begin September 1, 2017 and end on August 31, 2018.
