Purpose:

The Expanding Innovations in Teacher Climate and Culture program is a limited competitive grant program where grantees will continue to investigate and develop strategies aimed at reducing administrative burdens and other tasks that pull teachers away from the classroom. Grantees will expand upon their year one work regarding teacher climate and culture through at least one of the following two methods:

  • Develop a plan of expansion of the successful year one policies, programming, guidance and/or equivalencies (PPGE’s) to other school buildings within the LEA who did not benefit from the first year.
  • Develop, implement and measure new PPGE’s aimed at reclaiming teacher time through the reduction of administrative burdens and other tasks placed on teachers which pull them away from the classroom. It is intended that these can be shared and replicated statewide.
  • Present successful year one PPGE’s at the Teacher Climate and Culture Institute on July 29, 2025.

The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has established a twelve-month grant program. This grant program is open to LEAs that participated successfully in the 2024 Teacher Climate and Culture Innovation grant program (24 TE13-G06). Applicants may apply for up to $61,250.

Based on the availability of FY 25 State appropriations, this 12-month grant program will begin June 1, 2025, and will end on May 31, 2026.
