Getting a flu vaccine can protect you and those around you. It can also prevent millions of illnesses and flu-related doctor's visits each year. Getting a flu vaccine saves medical resources for those suffering from COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.

Everyone 6 months and older should get an annual flu vaccination, especially those at high-risk for severe complications from the flu, including:

  • Young children
  • Pregnant women
  • People with certain chronic health conditions (asthma, diabetes, or heart disease)
  • People 65 years and older

Where to get a vaccine

Flu shots are available throughout flu season (fall and winter) at many locations, including your health care providers office, pharmacies, and grocery stores with pharmacies.
