63rd Army Band
About Us

The 63rd Army Band is a diverse group of musicians who represent the New Jersey Army National Guard and serve the community through music. Being citizen-soldiers, this diversity shows with the band being comprised of educators, professional musicians, college students, and government employees, to just name a few. We have a high retention rate with many of the Soldiers remaining in the 63rd for more than 10 years!

63rd Army Band

Welcome

Welcome to the 63rd Army Band home page. We are stationed at the National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, New Jersey, and are proud to have some of the area's finest professional and amateur musicians as our members. The soldiers of the 63rd meet one weekend each month for rehearsals and performances, and then go on a two-week concert tour each year. The 63rd features many different Musical Performance Teams (MPTs), including a concert band, rock band, stage band, jazz combo, marching band, brass quintet, and ceremonial band. The MPTs perform regularly for audiences throughout the New Jersey area.

Our Mission

Army Bands provide music throughout the spectrum of military operations to instill in our soldiers the will to fight and win, foster the support of our citizens, and promote our national interests at home and abroad. We provide music for troop gatherings and activities, military and religious ceremonies, and civil affairs, such as parades and other public events. Our job is to perform this mission for the New Jersey area in peacetime, wartime, and in situations deemed necessary by the Governor of New Jersey.
