Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

Office of Government Relations
About the Office of Government Relations
The Office of Government Relations (OGR) serves as the bridge between the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMAVA), the Governor’s Office, the State Legislature, and New Jersey’s Congressional Delegation. Our mission is to strengthen partnerships across all levels of government to better serve our National Guard members, Veterans, and their families.
OGR leads the Department’s legislative and policy efforts — tracking state and federal bills, coordinating testimony and briefings, and advancing initiatives that support New Jersey’s military community. The office also responds to constituent inquiries from elected officials and residents, ensuring each concern is addressed efficiently and through the proper channels.
In addition, OGR manages invitations and legislative participation for major DMAVA and New Jersey National Guard events, working closely with the Governor’s advance team and public officials to ensure proper coordination and protocol. The office also supports outreach through councils, commissions, and community partnerships to expand access to benefits, strengthen awareness, and highlight the vital contributions of our service members and Veterans.
