Mission Statement

At the Joint Resiliency Directorate (J9) our mission is to implement and deliver a comprehensive collaboration with existing prevention and intervention programs to strengthen the readiness and resiliency of the New Jersey Army and Air National Guard..


Vision Statement

Our Vision is to educate and resource our community by identifying high-risk behaviors, preventing harmful behaviors, and increasing readiness by fostering health climates free of all types of discrimination and sexual-related abuse, and instilling readiness in the areas of mental, sleep, nutritional, physical, and spiritual resiliency for service members, their families, and civilian personnel access to prevention, response, and readiness services within the New Jersey National Guard.

Family Programs
  • The New Jersey National Guard Family Programs provides support to service members, their families, and volunteers.

Resiliency, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention (R3SP)
  • R3SP provides resources to promote resilience and prevent drug and alcohol abuse as well as suicide.

  • The State Equal Employment Manager's Office manages the discrimination complaint system for service members and civilian employees.

  • The IPPW is a resource for evidence-based training and practices to prevent harmful behaviors before they occur.

Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program
  • The National Guard Sexual Assault Prevention & Response (SAPR) Program follows DoD and NGB regulations to develop procedures for responding to the crime of sexual assault within the DoD.

  • ESGR promotes employer support for Guard and Reserve services by increasing awareness of applicable laws and resolving conflict between employers and service members.
