MVC SERVICE ALERT

The Newark Inspection Station closed permanently on Saturday, April 11, to enable the construction of a brand-new, expanded, and modernized Newark Agency.

Affected motorists:

    • Please use alternative inspection stations in Secaucus, Rahway, Wayne, or Paramus
    • Inspection stickers expiring between April and July 2026 are extended for 3 months

CDL/CLP HOLDERS-EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 23, 2026

Medical Examiner’s Certificate information will be electronically transmitted from the National Registry (NR) to the State Driver Licensing Agency (SDLA). Medical Examiners must submit examination results into the NR. We will no longer accept paper certificate (Form MCSA-5876). NON-DOMICILED CDL/CLP CUSTOMERS
The MVC is issuing non-domiciled CDLs and CLPs in accordance with new federal regulations, effective March 16, 2026. Please see here for more information.
