Per NJSA 52:18A-199(4a) the Commission “….shall provide a coordinated integrated and comprehensive plan for growth, development, renewal, and conservation of the State and its regions and which shall identify areas for growth, agriculture, open space conservation, and other appropriate designations.”
A negotiating process, designed to encourage consistency between municipal, county, regional, and State Plans to create a meaningful, up-to-date, and viable State Plan and State Plan Policy Map that incorporates input at all levels of government and public input.
The State Planning Commission urges those participating in Cross-Acceptance to recommend policies as appropriate to address development, redevelopment, and conservation issues in these and other regions of New Jersey, as their plans, comments and advice will be considered.
Incorporates the negotiated agreements from the Cross-Acceptance process.
Once the State Planning Commission approves the Draft Final Plan, that document, together with the State Plan Policy Map, becomes the new State Development and Redevelopment Plan.
