The Bureau of Research is responsible for research activities across NJDOT. Our research results in the discovery of new materials, improvement of processes, refinement of systems, and the generation of innovative ideas that increase the durability and efficiency of our transportation infrastructure. Our research products enhance public safety, improve mobility, reduce congestion, improve and protect the environment, and improve the quality of life. Research studies are accomplished through the:

• Solicitation of problem statements
• Procurement and Management of University and Consultant Research Partners
• Implementation of Research findings through technology transfer, training, and library services.
