The New Jersey Department
of Transportation (NJDOT)
utilizes contractors
for plowing and spreading
services during the winter
season. Interested contractors should review the documents for plowing and spreading services, complete the required forms and mail to:
Plowing
Contractors
with Class A or B trucks
are used to perform
snow plowing and hauling
services.
Plow truck class sizes:
- Class A - Gross
Vehicle Weight (GVW)
of 45,000 pounds or over
- Class B - GVW
of 20,000 to 44,999 pounds
Documents and required forms:
Spreading
Contractors with Class
P, Q or R Spreading trucks
are used
to perform spreading services.
Spreader truck class sizes:
- Class P - 6 to 8 cubic
yard Spreader, truck
minimum spreader capacity
of 13,000 pounds, maximum
capacity of 16,999 pounds
- Class Q - 8.1 to 9.9
cubic yard Spreader,
truck minimum spreader
capacity of 17,000 pounds,
maximum capacity of 20,999
pounds
- Class R - 10 to 12+
cubic yard Spreader,
truck minimum spreader
capacity of 21,000 pounds,
no maximum capacity
