All customers should first contact their utility provider to address any issues before reaching out to the NJ BPU’s Division of Customer Assistance. Utility providers can often resolve concerns quickly. If you have already spoken with your utility, please briefly describe that interaction. If the issue remains unresolved, follow the instructions below to submit a complaint.
The Division of Customer Assistance handles verbal, written and e-mail complaints as well as other information inquiries. Customers may contact the Division with complaints regarding service delays, lack of service, discontinuance of service, payment arrangements, high bills, deposit requests, and incurred or high rates.
