The Office of Diversity Programs is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to support and facilitate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) for the State’s civil service workforce. In working with state agencies, departments and local jurisdictions, the Office of Diversity Programs actively engages its stakeholders to increase DEI so that every employee, and prospective employee feels valued and respected. The Office further reinforces CSC’s commitment to creating a more equitable workforce and valuing the differences that all employees and prospective employees bring and contribute to our shared values and goals.
The Office hosts numerous outreach events, training, and professional development programs, along with targeted initiatives focused on cultivating DEI for New Jersey’s civil service workforce.
Employment Information Sessions
Office of Diversity Programs (ODP) hosts virtual and in-person employment information sessions throughout the year. Participants are provided step-by-step “instruction and how to” on applying for job announcements posted on CSC’s website. Additionally, information is provided on the types of positions available, i.e., competitive, non-competitive, and the variety of public service careers within government service. These sessions have been sponsored and supported by various partners, including NJ departments/agencies, community organizations, One-Stop Career Centers, colleges and universities, etc.
As part of State as a Model Employer (S.A.M.E.) initiative, ODP will host targeted sessions focused on assisting individuals with disabilities navigate the employment process while addressing real or perceived barriers to employment.Information and Resources Click to Learn more about Information and Resources
